The Aussies will be pulling out all the stops today for the final day of swimming at the Commonwealth Games. We’re in with a chance to collect even more medals with finals in the women’s 400m freestyle, men’s 4 x 100m medley relay, men’s 1500m freestyle, women’s 4 x 100m medley relay and the women’s S8 50m freestyle. While the lineup for most of the finals are yet to be decided, so far we do know Emily Seebohm and Holly Barratt will represent the Aussies in the women’s 50m backstroke final. We’ve also got a strong line up for the men’s 50m freestyle final with Cameron McEvoy, James Roberts and James Magnussen all racing.
The athletics action continues today at Carrara Stadium with a full day of heats in both men’s and women’s sprints, decathlon events, long jump and hurdles. As for the finals, we can look out for Aussie Steve Solomon in the men’s 400m final and also keep an eye on Sam Rizzo, Jake Lappin and Kurt Fearnley in the men’s T54 1500m final.
Elsewhere today there are also Aussies competing in the road cycling, beach volleyball, hockey, boxing, badminton, lawn bowls, shooting, squash and table tennis.
