It might be more difficult than usual to get the kids up for school next week.
Not only is Monday the first day back from holidays for state schools in Queensland, but temperatures are also expected to plummet from this weekend.
The mercury is set to drop to just 1°C in Nerang on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Things won't be quite as chilly in other parts of the Gold Coast with Coomera getting down to 3°C, while the Seaway will dip to a minimum of 6°C.
"These temperatures are going to be the coldest of this year," said Chris Joseph from the Bureau of Meteorology.
"I don't think we've seen these kind of overnight temperatures for a while," he said.
Saturday and Sunday will see the coldest temperatures, but the chilly overnight lows are supposed to stick around well into next week.
The days will be sunny though, with the max staying around 21°C.
