A teenager is in custody and two more are on the run after a house in Southport was gutted by fire on Anzac Day.

Police were called to the scene on Norman Street around 10:30am on Wednesday, finding the Queenslander well alight before evacuated nearby residents.

One of the firefighters battling the blaze reportedly had to be treated by paramedics.

A 17-year-old was taken into custody by police and is being questioned, while the surrounding streets have been reopened after the fire forced traffic to be diverted.
