Wildlife experts have raised concerns about a whale entangled as it travels up the Coffs Coast.
The first sightings came yesterday at Woolgoolga, with reps from marine animal rescue group ORRCA saying it's carrying along marine debris like ropes and buoys.
The items have a massive impact on the adult's energy as it migrates north.
At this stage conditions are too rough for specialised disentanglement staff from the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service to get out on the water and analyse how the creature’s doing.
Meantime, ORRCA is asking us to keep an eye out for an entangled sub-adult last seen in Newcastle yesterday.
We shouldn't approach the beasts and anyone with info should call ORRCA on 9415 3333.
