It’s been a busy weekend on the Central Coast for CareFlight medicos.

On Saturday morning, they airlifted a 31 year old man to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after an accident in the Hawkesbury region.

The man was riding with a group of motorcyclists when he was involved in a collision with a ute on Old Northern Road, near Wiseman’s Ferry.

The man remains in Royal North Shore in a serious but stable condition.

Then yesterday at 4pm, a 72 year old man was airlifted to Westmead Hospital after being kicked in the chest by a horse at Kangy Angy.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the man at the scene before transferring him to the helicopter with the assistance of NSW Ambulance.

He’s currently in a stable condition and will need ongoing treatment.

The Westpac Resuce Helicopter was also out in the region last night, responding to reports a motorbike rider had been injured in bushland near Gwandalan around 5pm.

No more is known about that incident at this stage.
