ACT Police will target anti-social behaviour and underage drinking at #hit1047skyfire tonight, with parents urged to keep an eye on their kids.

Those planning to have a few drinks are also being urged to have a plan B and not get behind the wheel.

Extra police will be out in force, with underage drinking a key focus.

“Any young person that is found by our teams to be underage drinking, they will be taken into custody and there may be further action taken against them,” Station Sergeant Jason Kennedy said.

“For parents who have older children, there is a risk they will engage in underage drinking. Talk to them about that behaviour and also know where they are, where they’re going and who they’re with.”

Police will also be giving out identification bands for parents to put on their children’s wrists, in case they get lost.

“Speak to your young kids, if they do get lost, let them know to look out for police or a security guard and we’ll reunite them with their parents,” Sergeant Kennedy said.

Drivers should also be patient, with traffic delays expected in the area.

Stay safe Canberra, and have fun!
