She’s a familiar face around town.

Stasia Dubrowski, Canberra’s iconic soup kitchen lady, needs our help.

The 91 year old, who’s been serving homemade hot soup to Canberra’s needy for 38 years, was recently in a car accident.

Some of Stasia’s ribs were broken, but in her true selfless fashion, she’s more concerned about making sure the territory’s homeless get their hot soup and bread.

Since then, Stasia’s grandson Joshua has been running the soup kitchen from his Holden Astra – which, as you can imagine, isn’t ideal.

Stasia’s van was only covered by third party insurance, so they’ve found themselves in a bit of a pickle.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up to raise money for a new van, because currently, they can’t collect food and bread, do their regular drop offs, or run the kitchen on Fridays, without a working van.

So far, over $500 has been raised since the account was set up on New Year’s Day.

The fundraising goal is $8000.

Now it’s our turn Canberra - let’s help a lady who’s devoted her life to always helping others.
