Man Who Shot And Killed Iconic QLD Croc Slapped With $10K Fine

The man who shot and killed 'iconic' crocodile in Alligator Creek, north of Rockhampton last year has been slapped with a $10,000 fine.

The penalty for killing the 5.2m croc could have been up to $28,000. 

It's understood that no conviction has been recorded against Luke Stephen Orchard, who pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today. 

Fronting media outside of court today, Orchard's lawyer said his client "expressed his remorse in court today, and is looking forward to moving on with his family."
