The Sunshine Coast community is rallying behind a Yandina family who lost their 6-year-old daughter on Sunday, after a tragic accident outside Nambour Plaza.
Little Indie Armstrong was walking through the car park with her grandmother and older sister when an elderly driver reversed into them, pinning Indie against a pole. 8-year-old sister Lily suffered leg injuries, while their grandmother is in a critical condition in hospital.
Overnight, dozens of families gathered outside the shopping centre for a candlelight vigil, while a GoFundMe page has been set up to help her parents with medical costs and funeral expenses, with more than $10,000 raised in just 10 hours.
A police investigation is continuing, to determine if the 86-year-old woman behind the wheel will face charges.
