Fake Trading Websites Conning Qlders Out Of Thousands

The Queensland police cyber crime group say they're investigating hundreds of fake trader websites which have cost local victims over $100,000 so far.

It's alleged the websites lure us in with super cheap deals on everything from BBQ's, air con units and gym equipment in return for a cash payment,  BUT the goods never arrive.

The fraudsters have already gotten their hands on around $110,000 from 126 victims with police are expecting that figure to rise.

Police have today released images showing a Brisbane man and woman they believe to be involved.

"We believe a man and a woman who may be able to assist us with our investigation are currently in Brisbane and we are seeking the public's support on two fronts," a QPS spokesperson said.

If you have any information relating to the people picture, police ask you call Policelink, and if you believe you fallen victim to this scam to report the matter to ACORN
