Taxi drivers are hoping to help One Nation candidates know that winning feeling at the next Queensland election, expected this year.
During a meeting at Brisbane's Convention Centre - Cab owners were each asked to throw in $720 to help Pauline Hanson's party get wider representation according to the ABC.
The total figure's estimated to reach around $2.3 million.
The industry is reacting to the State Government's decision to legalise ride-sharing services like Uber. Senator Hanson hasn't tried hard to hide her dislike of ride-sharing.
The State Government did offer a $100 million assistance package, which included a one-off payment of $20,000 per taxi licence, capped at two licences, and $10,000 per limousine licence.
It is being reported that 700 applications have been processed, and another 900 are yet to be resolved.
