Operation Regal’s kicking off today as Victoria Police look to make sure people are staying safe on our roads this Queens Birthday long weekend.

They’ll be targeting key risk factors over the 4 day period including speed, fatigue, distraction and impaired driving.

Assistant Commissioner Doug Fryer’s urging those who’re travelling on unfamiliar roads to take your time with country deaths over represented in the lives lost on our roads again this year.

Macedon Ranges crime investigation unit detectives have arrested one man and three women yesterday after executing 5 search warrants in relation to an ongoing drug investigation.

As part of the search, investigators found traffickable quantities of marijuana, cannabis, estasy and ice.

A 54 year old Sunbury woman, a 23 year old Riddells Creek woman, a 31 year old Kyneton woman and a 35 year old Kyneton man are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Bendigo has its first ratepayers group in 10 years after the Greater Bendigo Ratepayers association formed to keep council honest.

They’re looking to improve the democratic process in local government and increase community participation in decisions.

The group has 30 members and is one of 6 sub-branches which have been formed from Ratepayers Victoria over the past 3 months.

The National Disability Insurance Agency has released the results of their latest quarterly report, focusing on data from January to March

It shows almost 7000 Victorians who have signed up for the national disability insurance scheme have never received state support before.
