An armed and masked man who used a hammer to smash glass display cases at an Adelaide jewellery store before fleeing with a sack full of valuables remains on the run.
The jewel thief, wearing a balaclava and armed with a shotgun, raided the shop at the Arndale Shopping Centre at Kilkenny around 12.45pm on Sunday before taking off in a grey Ford Territory.
A few hours earlier a woman was robbed by an armed intruder who stole an iPad, jewellery and cash at a home in nearby Prospect before escaping in a grey car.
Police are investigating whether the robberies are linked.
No one was injured in either incident but some jewellery shop staff members were treated for shock.
A manhunt is underway for the suspect who was wearing grey clothing, socks and thongs.
