There's now an easy way to enjoy some of South Australia’s best wineries without bringing the car - and we're the first state in Australia to do it.
TrailHopper is a hop on, hop off bus service that launched in Adelaide last year and takes wine connoisseurs on a tour through the wineries of the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale or the Adelaide Hills. Basically it's like an amazing tourist bus for wine.
The buses leave from outside the Stamford Plaza on North Terrace and then operate on a timetable through various wineries in the regions.
TrailHopper co-founder, Matthew Hodge said, “Given we have been awarded the status of a ‘Great Wine Capital of the World’, it is essential we make visiting the wine regions of SA accessible and affordable. We are also proud to think we can stimulate economic growth in these regions by bringing the tourist dollars to the doorstep.
“TrailHopper offers guests the opportunity to visit three wine regions and over 50 wineries and whether you drink wine or not, there’s something for everyone with each tour offering a great selection of wineries and venues to taste and explore.
“Taste your way through the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills – no designated driver required!”
