A wasteland at Gepps Cross is set to be transformed.
Port Adelaide Enfield Council is expected to rezone land once occupied by parts of a former abattoir and old steel plant between Main North Road and Port Wakefield Road.
The owners of the site have plans to build a $30 million 100-store discount shopping hub to rival the likes of Harbour Town.
A tavern, service station, gym, supermarket and indoor trampoline centre could also be on the drawing board.

Local residents have until February 18 to comment on the council's plans.
