The Festival Of Bright Ideas Is Guaranteed To Blow Your Mind Festival of Bright Ideas

Mad about science? Looking for something to do this weekend? Well we have a bright idea for you...

The Festival of Bright Ideas (FOBI) is a celebration of the Tasmanian science sector with workshops, performances, tours and displays that will showcase innovative aspects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

One available workshop is the ‘Brick-tastic LEGO Building with Bricks 4 Kidz’, which calls on all Master Builders to channel their creativity through modelling mosaic and colour kits.

Another presentation will be ‘Questacon’s Tasty Science’, which investigates strange tastes in an interactive way. Science and food? Count us in!

There will also be a presentation from physicist, explosives engineer, soldier, comedian, author, astronaut candidate Josh Richards (yes, those are ALL titles Josh has earned). Josh is 1 of 100 astronaut candidates short-listed to permanently settle Mars in 2032, and he’ll be holding a lecture and Q&A on the Lightwave Stage from 2pm at the festival.

The public day will be held on Saturday 18th August from 10am – 5pm at Princes Wharf 1. You wouldn’t be too BRIGHT to miss it!
