Summer nights are all about icy cold cocktails, delicious street munchies and fun, lively music.

NightQuarter, the Gold Coast’s premiere night market, know that better than most and so have decided to answer our prayers by dishing up a slate of the finest musicians on offer every Friday night from now through until February. Of course, this will all be alongside their regular 120-plus food and drink purveyors, designers and craft stalls.

As of this Friday you can start making some sweet summer memories with West End Brissy’s furiously energetic band The Mouldy Lovers. One of the nation’s most exciting live acts, this local seven-piece have been blowing ceilings off concert venues for the better part of the last decade with their unique blend of folk, punk, dub, spa and world.

If you’re yet to become acquainted, let’s let their music do the talking:

Expect an evening full of poetry and passion from a wild and raucous band that live by the mantra that every heat wave-cracked street is a dance floor. But don’t take our word for it – they themselves proved their dazzling virtuosity in being one of the most memorable acts to grace the NightQuarter stage back in October last year, blowing locals away with their spirit and soul.

So, grab your dancing shoes and your spare change and prepare to get your boogie on at the perfect Friday after work drinks venue. After all – it’s nights like these that make summer the best time of the year and the Goldy the best place to be enjoying it.

The Mouldy Lovers are playing at NightQuarter on Friday the 7th of December. Doors open at 4pm for a 6:30pm performance. Entry is $3 and can be purchased from the gate on the night. Kids 12 and under are free. For more information visit the NightQuarter website or visit the event page.
