Coles are opening their doors at Coomera City Centre from this Thursday, January 25, creating 105 new jobs for the Gold Coast. Opening celebrations will kick off with an Aussie Food Festival, just in time for Australia Day!
From 1pm, the food festival will feature some Aussie favourites at sampling stations. This includes Vegetime, Tim Tams, Milo, lamingtons, mini pies and sausage rolls, as well as a free sausage sizzle and mini pavlova decorating for the kids!
Michael Weldon (Masterchef contestant and co-host of The Cooks Pantry) will cook up a storm, showing off some gourmet barbecue delights featured in the latest Coles magazine.
There will be competitions, live music and performers, as well a photo & signing session with V8 Supercar champion Jamie Whincup from 4pm.
Now, if you're one of the first 100 customers through the doors, you will receive a FREE goodie bag! The first 50 customers to spend $150 in one transaction will receive a $20 gift card.
The new Coomera City Centre supermarket will see an enhanced shopping experience, featuring an in-store bakery with freshly baked goods, a gourmet delicatessen with an olive bar and decadent cheese wall, a health food selection (including a scoop-and-weigh station) and a variety of seeds, nuts, grains and dried fruits
Creating 105 new jobs for the Gold Coast sees new recruits, including 11 Indigenous team members who will join 25 existing team members transferring from nearby Coles stores.
Coles State General Manager Jerry Farrell says, “It’s fantastic to be creating new job opportunities in this growing region, and as part of Coles’ commitment to ensuring our team represents the communities we serve, we’re particularly pleased to welcome 11 Indigenous team members to the new supermarket.”
Coles Coomera City Centre will officially open to shoppers at 7am on Thursday, January 25, alongside Liquorland.
