It seems the whole city has a severe case of carnival fever and no one wants to find a cure. With good reason.

Step right up and embrace this long weekend's Gold Coast Show extravaganza as the city transforms into a playground of festival fun.

To kick off the show holiday NightQuarter in Helensvale are rolling out the circus-style red carpet this Friday night celebrating everything and anything you can poke a stick at... literally.

'Food on a stick' will be the star attraction at this foodie fiesta allowing clowns of all ages to nibble while they roam the streets of the popular night market.

The NightQuarter team are hailing it the perfect way to get into the show day spirit.

So what kind of finger lickin' stick food are they talking?

Take your pick from donuts, dutch pancakes, garlic bread, rainbow cheese toasties, corn dogs, chocolate dipped strawberries, waffles, sausages and bacon, falafels and barbecued meat and vegetables.... all available on a stick.

Once you're tuckered out over the crazy stick desserts and savoury stick treats is when the carnival fun really begins.

They'll be pony rides, petting zoos, carnival games, a mini roller coaster for the young ones (..or young at heart) as well as a NightQuarter Spectacular Show on the main stage.

You want more? We like you. Bring your dancing shoes because the night will come to a triumphant end with a 'Whole Lotta AC/DC'. That's in fact the name of the complete tribute rock band set to bring the house down playing and celebrating the greatest hits of the best rock band on earth.

"The band assaults audiences from the word ‘GO’, with a superbly accurate show complete with costumes, concert quality sound and lighting and the unrelenting energy that AC/DC has become famous for."
