It's that time of year again...

Post

That's right, it's summertime!

And we're here to help you beat the heat, with 11 activities you need to tick off your GC bucket list this holiday season...

1. Coasting Around

Set sail in a Coasting Around Boat with a group of friends and a bottle of wine. It's the best way to sit back, relax, and get that summer tan on.

2. Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Hire a board from The Boatshed and go stand up paddle boarding down Currumbin Creek, then finish off the day with a cocktail on the deck or fish & chips on the riverbank.

3. Sunday Arvo Barefoot Bowls

Spend an afternoon with friends at one of the many barefoot bowls clubs right here on the Gold Coast. Cheers to that!

4. Byron Bay

Treat yourself to a weekend vacay in Byron Bay... spend the night drinking cocktails at Balcony Bar before heading to a luxe resort for the night (like Elements of Byron, pictured above), and finishing the weekend off with brunch at The Farm! Anyone else already packing their bags?!

5. Burleigh Hill Sunset

Are you even a Gold Coast local if you haven't seen a Burleigh Hill sunset? Grab yourself a picnic basket and a nice spot on the hill by the newly decorated Christmas tree. There's nothing more relaxing for an evening out (so long as you can get through the stress of finding a carpark and ignore all of the screaming birds!)

6. Currumbin Valley Rock Pools

Escape the hustle bustle of life and get away to the Currumbin Valley Rock Pools for a day.

7. Sunrises and Acai

There's nothing better than an açai bowl on a hot day at the beach. Why not kick off your morning early with a beach sunrise before grabbing yourself a breaky bowl?

8. Wet 'n' Wild

How long has it been since you visited this summer holidays hot spot? Remember getting there early to save your spot by the wave pool, leaving mum to mind your bags while you ran off to your fav ride, or begging dad for the overpriced slurpees and burgers? Those were the days...

9. Backyard Slip & Slide

Post

Nothing says Aussie Summer more than a backyard slip & slide. Grab a tarp and a full bottle of washing detergent for endless fun with your friends or fam. You're never too old for a slip & slide.

10. Pub Crawl

Grab your friends and your best costumes, and begin your Burleigh to Broadbeach pub crawl exhibition! Because honestly, what's summer without one?

11. Learn to Surf

If surfing has always been that thing you've wanted to try but never gotten round to learning, why not take a lesson at Currumbin Alley? Cowabunga! (Is that a surfing thing? Take the lesson and get back to us...)
