Autumn is here and Winter is right around the corner, meaning it's time to get your beauty regime in order! Priceline Pharmacy have just launched their Festival of Beauty campaign, focusing on six key beauty trends for AW18:
- Triple Pink (makeup)
- Graphic Colour (makeup)
- Glossy Skin (makeup)
- Asymmetric Knots (hair)
- Bound Pony (hair)
- Wet Look (hair)
These trends are making their way to the VAMFF runway this week, so I couldn't go past chatting to Priceline Sister Sam Harris for her take on the trends rocking the beauty world this season and, how us Gold Coast gals & guys can make the most of them!
Out of the six key beauty trends for this AW18, which one is your favourite in hair and in makeup?
I love the ‘triple pink’ trend this Autumn/Winter – it’s flirty, fun, and easy to achieve – just a little pink on the eyes, cheeks and lips. Our Priceline Pharmacy Makeup Director, Sarah Laidlaw, recently got me onto the L’OREAL PARIS True Match Blush in Sandalwood Pink, it’s a lovely soft pink that blends nicely.
For hair, I’m a big fan of the ‘wet look’ trend – it’s so easy to create and I find it looks amazing on everyone. You’ll definitely see this look on all of the runways this Autumn/Winter.
Which trend do you think could fit in well for us Gold Coasters?
The ‘glossy skin’ trend is perfect for Gold Coasters as a lot of the time it’s way too warm to stay matte! It’s super easy to pull together too, all you need is a dewy foundation and cream highlighter to achieve the look.
For some of us who are in a warmer climate like the Gold Coast, what is one key product we should be using?
You can’t go past a good setting spray to help avoid your makeup fading or sweating off on a hot day. My favourite is the MODELS PREFER Finale Make-Up Setting Mist
In your experience, what's one thing the Gold Coast does well when it comes to personal grooming and following beauty trends?
I find Gold Coasters to have such an effortless beauty vibe about them. It’s all about beach waves and no makeup-makeup which I love. I’m in heavy makeup a lot of the time for my job so I’m all about the less is more approach.
What are your top 5 favourite products at Priceline that we should be picking up this season?
LANOLIPS Lemonaid Lip Treatment – I’ve always loved Lanolips’ lip balms, they moisturise my lips so well especially after a long day of wearing different lipsticks for work.
LUMA Liquid Light Illuminating Primer – This primer makes my skin look so healthy and radiant! It also helps my makeup stay on for much longer.
L'OREAL PARIS Infallible Pro Glow Foundation – I love the dewy finish this foundation gives and it has serious staying power!
MODELS PREFER Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Nude– This palette has all of the shades I need to create a quick and easy eye look, whether it’s something natural for during the day or a smoky eye for a night out.
MODELS OWN Aquaproof HyperEyes Mascara – This mascara makes my lashes so long and voluminous, plus it’s waterproof so it stays put all day!
What excites you the most about the A/W months in terms of beauty?
I’m pretty excited to bring my darker lipsticks back out after a summer of bright shades!
Your beauty muse is _________ because...
I love Jennifer Lawrence! She always looks flawless, and her makeup looks so effortless.
Lipstick or gloss?
Lip gloss because it’s quite low maintenance but still makes me look put together.
Dewy skin or matte skin?
Dewy skin, again I find it’s much lower maintenance which is always a plus for me.
The best beauty advice you've been given is...
Less is more! It can be so easy for women to get a little carried away with makeup (myself included!) and it’s much harder to tone your look down when you’ve gone a bit overboard than it is to gradually add more.
If there is one product you can't go without, what is it?
LANOLIPS Lemonaid Lip Treatment – I’ve got about five of these, one for my car, handbag, bedside table and everywhere in between!
