Just when we thought Burleigh had reached peak foodie status, a new Mexican eatery pops up to make the “where should we eat?” debate even harder. Tacocat (spelt the same backwards, how fun!) opened its doors on Thursday and is the second venue by the Easy Street Diner team.
The restaurant is tucked away in a side alley off James Street, just behind Harvest Moon and is one of the cutest eateries on the coast. The pastel colourings and simple furnishings are a match made in heaven.
Tacocat serves all of your traditional Mexican dishes like tacos and quesadillas as well as more modern dishes like kingfish ceviche, fried snapper wings and beef cheek tostadas. The menu is very extensive with meat, fish and vegetarian options available.
As well as delicious modern Mexican food, Tacocat also has beer, wine, spirits and a heap of cocktails on offer, including red and white sangria jugs. The best part of their drinks menu is the page dedicated entirely to Margaritas. They have six different margaritas on offer. I’ll have one of each please!
It's Tacocat's opening weekend, so be sure to visit and show the guys some love!
