Fatality Free Friday is a campaign that is ten years old this year.

Started by Russell White on the Gold Coast when he had ‘had enough’ of mates dying on the road, he started a movement.

Ten years on it was commemorated on Friday in Toowoomba with a lunchtime event at St Lukes Church grounds.

The emergency services had a show of support with a number of vehicles present.

Deputy Mayor Carol Taylor spoke at the event and was joined b Mayor Paul Antonio, Inspector Steve Angus of Police and Assistant Commissioner David Hermann of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service.
