For over 19 years the CCMBC has been running ‘The Magoo Charity Classic’ in honour of our own local surfing legend Barry ‘Magoo’ McGuigan.
The Magoo Charity Classic is all about raising money to donate to the Central Coast Area Health Service to help fight against Cancer. We continue to strive to keep these funds flowing to those in our community that need it most.
To raise these funds, the CCMBC organises a Charity Auction on the Saturday night starting at 6.30pm at Norah Head Sports Club.
The Central Coast Malibu Board riders have been celebrating the love of surfing traditional and modern long boards since 1985. Celebrating their 30th year the club has evolved to become one of the most respected long board Clubs in Australia. The club has hosted many major events including the Australian Titles in 1992, the Hog’s Breath Café Pro-Am from 2000 to 2001, the Central Coast Open since 1987, and the Magoo Charity Classic since 1999.
The Club is made up of members from all over the Central Coast, from Copacabana to Soldiers Beach at Norah Head, and is one of the largest clubs on the Central Coast which provides valuable support networks for the Central Coast Community, as well as to its members and their families.
The Magoo contest alone has raised over $550,000 for Cancer Care and Research on the Central Coast, with 2016 raising over $35,000.
