Pretzels, beer and German dancing – what could make for a better weekend?
Oktoberfest will be bigger and better than ever at its new location this weekend– the Queanbeyan Showgrounds.
So get your lederhosen and dirndl’s ready for three jam-packed days of German fun!
On Friday the 27th from 5pm-11:30pm, don’t miss the official tapping of the keg! The Oompa band and German dancers will entertain while the Beer Garden comes into full swing! Also be sure to check out the Beardmeister competition.
The fun continues on Saturday the 28th from 11am-11:30pm – a day full of celebrations! Organisers have added a tonne of new fun to the program with amusement rides, Miss Oktoberfest and Strongman competitions, as well as new food vendors!
Sunday the 29th from 11am-5pm is the Family and Market Day with stacks of activities to entertain kids big and small! There’ll be food, art, clothes, coffee, jewellery and more. Visitors can also enjoy traditional German games, jumping castles, free amusement rides and face painting.
Visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of free bus services from Canberra City, Tuggeranong, Woden and Bungendore.
