Ronald McDonald House Canberra helped 239 families with sick kids last year.

Staff and volunteers who work around the clock to support families in need hope to be able to continue their work this year – but they need your help.

It costs $132 a night for one family to stay at the house, with RMHC working tirelessly to fundraise much needed money.

The Ronald McDonald House Canberra Gala Ball is coming up on March 24.

“We’re hoping to raise as much money as possible on the night. If we could get somewhere around $400,000 that’d be fantastic,” Executive Officer of RMHC, Michelle McCormack, said.

“All the money raised goes directly to supporting those families staying with us while they’re caring for their seriously ill child.”

While tickets to attend the Gala Ball have sold out, there’s still stacks of car raffle tickets up for grabs!

Michelle said the money raised will go a long way.

“A lot of families come to us unexpectedly, so they’re able to come in, they’ve got a room, they’ve got a bed, they can cook a meal, have breakfast, do their washing. So, the feedback we get is it’s an unbelievable service and they’d be lost without it,” she said.

“We need to fundraise about $500,000 a year to be able to run the programs here in Canberra, so we rely heavily on community support to be able to do that.”

You can show your support by purchasing car raffle tickets online!
