HIT104.7 SNOW REPORT - AUGUST 31

What's on at our ski fields?

We’ve had back-to-back bluebird days here in Thredbo this week and the groomers are looking just as good.

A series of low overnight temps this week has seen loads of snowmaking on the lower slopes – Friday Flat has received an absolute motza.

High Noon and Supertrail also received some love from the snowguns this week.

Conditions on the groomed runs have started out dry and firm, softening under the sunshine by around lunchtime.

Off-piste has been quite hard packed.

The low winds this week and today have made for some great backcountry touring.

It’s also been great weather to grab the camera and hit the terrain parks.

Exhibition has been a favourite for skiers and boarders keen on carving up the corduroy early.

And as always, the Cruiser area has been a favourite for all levels to do a few laps to warm up the legs.

Here at Thredbo we have 14 lifts running. Over at Perisher, 47 lifts spinning.

The clouds have rolled in this afternoon with showers and snow in the forecast as we head into the weekend…
