DOGS INCLUDED IN THE CANBERRA TIMES FUN RUN THIS YEAR!

Canberra’s a city that loves dogs. In some exciting news for dog owners around the capital, pooches have been included in yet another big local event!

For the first time in the event’s history, the Canberra Times Fun Run has announced a 5km Paw Parade route.

It gives dog lovers the unique opportunity to take part in this much-loved community event on September 23, alongside their four-legged best friend!

Thousands of people are expected to take part in the 1km, 5km or 10km events, with the 5km Paw Parade route expected to be a hit this year.

Your dog doesn’t have to be fast on their feet – participants and their pooches can stroll, walk, job or run along the picturesque routes.

Head of Sport at Fairfax Events, Sarah Young, said including dogs will add to the exciting atmosphere.

“We are so excited that this year we are able to introduce the first ever 5km Paw Parade course to the Fun Run, making the event a truly perfect day out for the whole family,” she said.

“So grab your little ones, friends, colleagues, family members and dogs and come together with thousands from across the ACT to help make this year’s event the best yet!”

This year, participants are encouraged to move their hearts and raise money for The Heart Foundation.
