Over two massive nights, Melbourne United will welcome the Sydney Kings to Victoria for what will be some thrilling NBL pre-season action. On August 30th 2018, Bendigo Stadium will play host to the two NBL powerhouses & later that week on Saturday 1st September, the teams will make their way to the State Basketball Centre for their second match-up.

With Melbourne United being the reigning NBL Champions and the addition of Aussie grown NBA superstar Andrew Bogut to the Sydney roster, these matches are sure to be a great preview of what is to come in NBL19. It will be the first opportunity for Melbourne United fans to see Andrew Bogut strut his stuff in his home state.

General Manager of Sport from Bendigo Stadium, Ben Harvey, says “it’s so exciting to be hosting NBL basketball in Central Victoria, and with the generous support of the state government and our new world-class arena its has all been made possible.”

Member for Bendigo East, Federal Minister Jacinta Allan said, “This is why we built a bigger and better stadium in Bendigo – to host blockbusters like this in our own backyard”

Both squads will feature some new and exciting faces, with the likes of Boomer Mitch McCarron, Dan Trist and Alex Pledger representing Melbourne United. All three of the new signings play vital roles in Melbourne’s Championship defence. For Sydney, the obvious addition of Bogut is massive, but they’ve also added some familiar faces; Kyle Adnam and Daniel Kickert.
