A young Victorian mum died while trying to save the life of a convicted drug-dealer, the Herald Sun has revealed.

Troy Swinden died after his motorbike hit an Audi on Monday evening.

A woman known as Emily, a 27-year-old dementia patient carer, leaped from her vehicle to try and save the man. She was then hit by another driver and died at the scene.

The Herald Sun has now revealed Swinden was a known criminal who has been jailed for driving offences in the past, as well as drug trafficking, weapon possession and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He was travelling well above the speed limit when he crashed into the Audi just after 10pm.

Emily was performing CPR when she was hit by the passing vehicle, it’s believed the driver did not see her.
