Another Guinness World Record is set to be claimed by WA after the Shire of Ravensthorpe approved plans for the world’s biggest freestanding lollipop to be built in town.

The application for the structure was brought to the shire almost two years ago by Yummylicious Candy Shack. The plans in that time have drawn mixed reactions from residents, who were divided over it being a draw card or an eye sore in town.

Luckily, with names like Australian rock musician Ian Moss among the 300 plus people who put their names down in support of the plans, the Shire have quickly agreed to approve the structures application.

Yummylicious Candy Shack owner Belinda McHurg said she was in shock after hearing the decision and is thrilled to be able to go ahead with the project and is looking forward to going through the next steps in getting it built.
