A new study has made some unorthodox claims as to beauty tips for women, claiming that if women want to keep their looks later in life, then they should have no more than two children.

The study suggested that this is the key to looking young and attractive, stating that women who have larger families may have saggier faces and darker, uneven skin tones as a result.

The study from Bath University explained this is because of the toll pregnancy has on the body, as well as breastfeeding and childcare.

Each child is said to increase oxidative stress, which is a chemical imbalance that promotes premature ageing.

Research looked at more than 500 mothers, finding that those with smaller families were more beautiful.

The authors of the study revealed, "We have shown that post-menopausal women who had fewer children were judged as more attractive, younger and healthier than women with more children, by both men and women.

"Pregnancy, lactation and childcare require high expenditure of energy and increased nutrient intake, therefore women with high parental investment, resulting from multiple pregnancies often have higher risk of diseases and a reduced lifespan."
