A woman in Adelaide's north has been seriously injured after being mauled by her pet dog.
Emergency services were called to the scene at roughly 8am this morning, with the 55-year-old woman sustaining severe head and arm injuries.
She was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital and is in a serious condition.
The dog has been seized shortly after the incident by Salisbury Council, with neighbours reportedly describing the attack as horrific.
It is unclear if the dog will be destroyed.
