This is probably the most important date in your 2019 calendar. Saturday February 9th is NATIONAL PIZZA DAY. Whether it’s thin, stuffed crust, deep dish, New York, Napoli style or homemade – pizza is the greatest food invention since sliced bread.
Here are some of our suggestions for Sydney’s Best Pizza to celebrate this glorious day (and every day.)
ROSSO POMODOR BALMAIN AND BONDI
Be transported from Sydney to Italy with one bite of this authentic pizza. The brains behind this place is from Roma, so you know it’s going to be the goods. Baked in their wood fired pizza oven take your pick of any pizza flavour and you will not be disappointed. The beautiful staff just add to the whole experience. Originally just located in Balmain they have branched out to Bondi Junction.
Take me there: 20-24 Buchanan St, Balmain or 94 Bronte Rd, Bondi Junction
There is so much to choose from at Mario’s with our top picks including the Marina, Pesto Chicken, Garlic Prawn and Parmigiana Pizza. PLUS, it is BYO with no charge. This is a nice, casual and cosy location. Grab a bottle of wine, your bestie or partner and loose pants for the best night ever.
Take me there: 81 Edwin St, Croydon
Lucio PIZZERIA, Zetland and Darlinghurst
This place has been awarded the BEST PIZZA IN AUSTRALIA at the Campionato Mondiale della Pizza (World Pizza Championship) last year! The boss Lucio De Falco was born and raised in Naples where he began his pizza journey, so this is the authentic Neapolitan experience. Try everything.
Take me there: East Village 2-4 Defries Ave, Zetland and 248 Palmer St, Darlinghurst.
Ronnie’s Pizza House, Blacktown
Ronnie’s has been making the goods for over 40 years, so they know what they are doing and do it with supreme love! Classic pan-fried or regular pizzas, plus salads, pasta and gelato, you get it all in this cute, simple Italian joint.
Take me there: 8 Flushcombe Rd, Blacktown.
Enzo Italian Restaurant, Camden
An award-winning pizza restaurant serving the Macarthur region. Their chef is Italian born Paolo Traina who makes his food with so much love you can taste the pride in every bite.
Take me there: 39 John St, Camden
Product of Italy, Penrith
A go-to for pizza lovers in Sydney’s west. They have got fresh, tasty ingredients to feed the whole family, even the little ones. Their staff are wonderful and portions sizes will keep you very happy. Give the Product of Italy Pizza a try with Mamma's Napoli Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Fresh Prawns, Spicy Salami, Cherry Tomatoes Oregano, Parmesan & Fresh Basil. BELLISIMO!
Take me there: 4/76 Henry St, Penrith
Manoosh Enmore, Marrickville and Waterloo
The brains behind this is Charlie Hoyek, inspired by his Lebanese heritage. You will love their fresh, colourful ingredients and fragrant spices. Must get that Zatar!!! Any pizza off the menu will satisfy, but our recommendation is the Vegan’s Paradise (and we aren’t even vegan) or the King Garlic Prawns = succulent prawns on top of their Lebanese garlic sauce, yummo!
Take me there: 170 Enmore Rd, Enmore, 1/465 Illawarra Rd, Marrickville, 83/788 Bourke St, Waterloo
