More than 280,000 people are expected to flood Civic this weekend for the 21st National Multicultural Festival.

The country’s biggest annual celebration of cultural diversity kicks off on Friday for three days.

There’s something for everyone, with seven stages featuring local, national and international acts and 400+ stalls.

For the first time, the festival will also have special sanctuary spaces, where visitors can take a break from the hustle and bustle!

In another first, visitors can plan their visit and find their favourite with the new 2017 National Multicultural Festival app!

Aussie star Kate Ceberano headlines the festival on opening night supported by Andrea Kirwin and Band.

On Saturday from 4pm, dancers from Canberra’s samba schools will perform to live Brazilian batucada in the annual parade, which is always a highlight!

There’s also stacks of other live music, comedy, performance art, food and wine stalls, street parties and more!

And of course, the usual favourites like chip on a stick and dutch pancakes! Yum!

If you don’t want to worry about trying to get a car park, free buses will be running to and from the Festival.
