The Australian Reptile Park's new baby koala Buddy has pretty much won social media today for stealing thousands of hearts at the award-winning sanctuary.
Buddy has already gained the adoration of thousands of Australians with a video of him bonding with carer Hayley Shute racking up over 167,000 views on the Australian Reptile Park’s Facebook page in just over 24 hours.
“Buddy is such a gorgeous addition to our Reptile Park family,” Ms Shute said.
“He’s proving to be a hit with our Facebook followers with his past videos of Buddy reaching over one million views.
"He's such a sweet little koala and he loves his cuddles and has just started eating leaves.”
Buddy came into Hayley’s care after his mother developed mastitis just before Christmas.
Without Hayley’s intervention, Buddy would most certainly died from not being able to get milk.
Buddy’s mother has recovered and mother and joey look to be reunited within the next week.
The Australian Reptile Park is a hands-on zoo located the natural bush setting of the Central Coast of NSW, only 60 minutes from Sydney or Newcastle.
The wildlife sanctuary is open daily from 9am to 5pm and includes live shows, themed exhibits and interaction with many of the its local residents.
