Warragul will be getting a new early learning centre, thanks to the federal government injecting $800,000 to get the project off the ground.

The regional jobs and investment fund will assist the Baw Baw Shire Council to construct the facility, which will be situated at Warragul Primary School.

Baw Baw Shire Mayor Joe Gauci told Hit FM News this morning it's a fantastic result for the region. "It takes a lot of pressure off something we were looking to have funded ourselves. On a bill that's worth over $2 million to do, with the state commitment of $650,000 and now $800,000 from the federal government, that really makes it manageable for us to do."

Construction is currently out to tender, and the early learning centre will be completed in 2019.

Speaking of big wins, Cameron from Glengarry won our Hit Fit Farmer competition last week. Nick & Zoe sent him to Farmworld to compete on the weekend. Catch up with the podcast below.
