Premier Daniel Andrews has announced the unlocking of Victoria's fifth lockdown, set to end at 11:59pm on Tuesday night. Here is what we know.

While the state still faces varied restrictions given the reveal of 10 locally acquired cases, the major announcement included students returning to school and the 5km radius scrapped.

Victorians have been warned the return to a new-normal won't be a quick process with limits in place for a further two weeks.

The 5km travel limit is now removed, schools are returning to face-to-face learning and hospitality, retailers and gyms have the green light to open again.

Pubs, restaurants, cafes and bars will open with 100 person indoor capacity and a max of 300 outside.

Density limits of one person per 4 square metres will be in place for venues.

Offices around the state will reopen for workers - although staffing will be capped at 25 per cent capacity.. or just 10 people, whichever is greater.

Victorians will be allowed to gather in public as well in groups of up to 10 - face masks will remain mandatory in indoor and outdoor settings.

Home visits are still banned, the Premier deems home gatherings as risky settings for transmission.

"We understand that will be challenging for people who have not seen family friends for a couple of weeks now, and many for longer periods than that."

- Premier Daniel Andrews

Finally, community sport is likely to return - but as for big events like footy at the MCG - that doesn't look likely for some time.
