Throughout the 2019 Ashes series, Marmite have been actively attending test matches, attempting to convert Aussies into trading in their Vegemite, for Marmite.
This has led to an incredible marketing war between Marmite and Vegemite, which led to a series of funny advertising stunts.
With Australia retaining the Ashes, Vegemite decided to end the war it had entered with Marmite, by cremating a piece of Marmite on toast, shoving the little bits into an urn and sending it back to Marmite headquarters.
Krysti & Bodge spoke to Matty, from Vegemite, to see how it all started, and more importantly, how it ended.
The discussion then turned into a blind tasting, that took place in the Hit Mid North Coast studio, involving the big 4 'Mite' brands: Vegemite, Marmite, MightyMite and Promite. The official, blind taste tester was Ashley, from the Hit Squad. She made her decision, but it was not well received...
