The University of Technology, Sydney has been lauded for a recent addition to the campus ahead of the new semester getting underway.
'All gender' bathrooms have been introduced to support gender diversity, with the bathroom labelling changed to be more inclusive than the previous unisex toilets.
The change is touted to foster a greater sense of inclusion for people of the LGBTQI community, and potentially alleviate issues of social dysphoria and harassment.
“Some people within our community don’t identify with traditional binary genders (male and female). Others don't feel comfortable using a bathroom designated by gender,” a statement from UTS said.
The bathrooms are in ten of the UTS campus buildings, and have a specially-marked sign.
