Two people declared dead at the Calliope Caravan Park

A crime scene has been declared at the Calliope Caravan Park.

Two bodies were found last night in separate caravans.

Police were called to the Park around 5pm last night where they initially found a 63-year-old man outside his caravan with significant head injuries.

He was rushed to Gladstone Hospital but declared dead.

Further investigations uncovered the body of a 60-year-old woman in another caravan.

UPDATE: 

A 64-year-old man was taken into custody overnight and is currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.
