Two officers have allegedly been assaulted following an incident in Cairns North.
A man's been charged.
Police have charged a 28-year-old Edge Hill man after he allegedly assaulted officers on Greenslopes Street last night.
It will be alleged when officers approached the intoxicated man, he began running away before slipping and falling on the road.
The man became violent and allegedly punched two officers in the chest and the side of the head.
The officers sustained minor injuries.
The man was quickly arrested and later charged with two counts of serious assault police.
He is scheduled to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court on April 4
