A venomous snake on the tracks has interrupted some train services this afternoon.

Sydney Trains have tweeted about the incident, saying that the snake was on the tracks between platform three and four of Doonside station.

Apologies for the delayed response, we can confirm there was a snake on platform 3/4 at Doonside station. We temporarily prevented services from stopping at the platform for the safety of customers. We contacted the appropriate authorities to handle the snake however it slithered away on its own before they had arrived.
