A Townsville teenager facing a rare cancer battle has just received a massive display of support from his favourite Rugby League players.

Kaiya Kerekere is currently going through treatment for a throat cancer called Synovial Sarcoma.

The Western Lions junior player is a huge fan of the New Zealand Warriors, and now they're a huge fan of his!

Players from the Warriors heard of Kaiya's battle, and have taken the time to record video messages wishing him all the best.

Kaiya was even with the boys in Round 18 of the NRL, and we have no doubt his fighting spirit pushed the boys to get the win over the Broncos 26-6 at Suncorp Stadium.

In 12 days, almost $7,000 has been raised for the teenager, and you can donate here if you'd like to support Kaiya's family.

We wish Kaiya and his loved ones all the best on this journey.
