NQ locals and visitors have been enjoying FREE 2 hour parking spots in the CBD since December 1, as part of Council's Christmas kindness, but it could be extended.

Council are currently looking at the possibility of introducing free 30-minute parking in the city.

If it all gets the green light, the spots could be in action from next year.

Mayor Jenny Hill says feedback has been the motivation behind looking into the change.

“There has been some feedback following the introduction of the free 15-minute parking that shoppers and traders wanted that little bit extra time,” Cr Hill said.
