Tourist Bus Flips In Hinterland, 19 Lucky To Be Alive

A mini-bus full of passengers has rolled 20m down an embankment at Lamington National Park with everyone on board lucky to be alive.

The bus carrying 18 tourists and the driver was heading towards the glow-worms caves when it came off Lamington National Park Road around 8pm on Sunday.

The driver was stuck in the wreckage and was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital with abdominal and back injuries.

Alan Windsor from the Queensland Ambulance Service said six passengers were also injured, but all managed to climb out by themselves.

"They suffered various injuries, mainly all minor injuries from lacerations to glass in the arm," said Senior Operations Supervisor Windsor.

They were all transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.
