While jetting off on a holiday usually means nothing but great memories, smiles and fun, if you're heading far away, there's one major con added to the mix: the discomfort of the journey!

Stuffing yourself into the back of your mate's Corolla amongst everyone's luggage is the epitome of discomfort, and unless you're travelling above the standard cattle class, planes aren't that much better!

No one enjoys sitting through hours upon hours of leg cramps, swollen feet and sore muscles - but thankfully, someone has come up with a quick fix for this problem, and it'll cost you no more than $2!

Always pack a tennis ball in your carry on!

We know, you were probably expecting some miracle cream or drug that would simply knock you out cold, but bear with us!

You can use a tennis ball for quick in-flight massage to help loosen your muscles in any areas that may be feeling tense.

Massaging your body is imperative, says Orthopaedic Surgeon from the London Orthopaedic Clinic, Ali Ghoz.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Ali said that frequent massages will help improve the body's blood flow.

"By taking a tennis ball or a massager on the plane, this will help increase circulation. If you don't have a massager, you can use your hands to stroke your muscles from the ankles upwards, which will get the blood flowing back to your heart."

Another easy tip, is to simply get up and move! Whether you need to tinkle or not, stand up and walk up and down the cabin - you'll thank yourself later!
