The region's littlest learners will receive drought relief during the dry period, the NSW State Government announcing a $3 million package to provide financial support for community preschools.

Officials hope the funds will ensure early childhood education services can continue to operate during adverse economic conditions associated with the drought period.

Over $19,000 has been paid to Wentworth Area Preschools, at Gol Gol, Dareton and Euston.

Murray MP Austin Evans has welcomed the funding, saying services can use this funding to assist families and children in a range of ways, including transport arrangements to maintain preschool participation and crisis planning or fee subsidies.
