Australia’s number one hot country trio, THE McCLYMONTS have been announced as headliners to perform at Queensland’s biggest camel racing event, the Tara Festival of Culture and Camel Races.

Thirteen-time Golden Guitar Award winning sisters Brooke, Sam and Mollie McClymont will hit the festival stage Saturday night to what will undoubtedly be the largest ever festival crowd to hit the tiny town of Tara in Queensland’s Western Downs.

The McClymonts are the biggest artists to appear at Tara Festival and a fitting highlight for this being the 10thyear the event has been staged.  Held every second year since 2001, the festival has grown to become a significant event on the Queensland calendar, with the last festival attracting 16,000 attendees and creating a pop-up city of 1,530 festival campsites.

Festival tickets are on sale and selling faster than ever before. “Camping at the festival is all part of the experience and our visitors really enjoy setting up right onsite and having the whole festival and also the Tara main street all within an easy stroll,” says Festival President Linda Petersen. “We get a lot of groups booking campsites and especially caravan and motorhome clubs, which will see the campgrounds no doubt grow well beyond the 1,530 campsites occupied at the previous festival.

New in 2019 are Tent & Ticket packages making festival camping even easier.

Camel racing teams from across Australia will come join the festivities in Tara, chasing their cut of the record $30,000 prize money and a chance to take home the 2019 Tara Camel Cup.  It’s serious racing business for the Cameleers who will arrive at the festival fresh from the rigors of the Outback racing circuit, however the trainers and jockeys admit they too can’t help but join in on some of the festivities around them.  Being the last stop on the 2019 racing circuit, the Tara camel races are somewhat a celebration for the racing teams too, being held only every two years and with the entertainment by the trackside Tara Festival is quite unlike any other racing event.
