The Bachelor and Bachelorette are probably the most talked about Australian reality shows of the 2010s, constantly providing us with a wonderful balance of ridiculousness and romance.

Each season we place our bets from the very beginning on who will win, whilst Network Ten fights endlessly to avoid spoilers.

Then finally, we watch a couple emerge from the show and wish them well on their happily ever after.

But the thing is, only half of the couples have actually lasted, and in several cases it seemed like the Bachelor and their winner only stayed together for a few months after the finale aired because they were contractually obliged.

Many fans were convinced of this after Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy called it quits three months down the track.

Now, our latest Bachelor, Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins, has added a lot of fuel to the rumours in a recent interview with the ABC.

Speaking about his choice to choose no one at the end of his season, Nick said the following:

“I was actually disappointed that people are so brainwashed, you’re not going to get your fairytale ending every time.

“And what’s more important, me just saying ‘yes’ and going through the motions and dragging some girl through all this media about how we’re in love and then three months down the track after the contract’s over, um, we’re allowed to break up.

“I’m not going to drag them through that rubbish and break her heart. Bugger that.”

AFTER. THE. CONTRACT. IS. OVER.

Ali Oetjen and Taite Radley are currently all loved up within that three month period... so, now we will wait till about mid-February and see what happens.

We're...

On...

To...

You.
